Leo Fender’s first electric guitar was the Fender Broadcaster, but after a dispute with Gretsch it went through a name change, settling on Telecaster because of the rising popularity of the Television in the 1950s. The Telecaster remains today, ‘the’ guitar to play if you move in country circles, but a number of incredible players have also used the Fender Telecaster during their careers, including Jimmy Page whenin The Yardbirds, and perhaps it’s best exponent in the blues genre, Roy Buchanan who could make a Telecaster cry. At The Guitar Lounge we stock a large range of Fender Telecasters, so call in to our store or call us to find your perfect Tele.
